Method 1: Use Data Protect Tool

• Go to the About section of Intuit Data Protect tool (IDP). [Right-click Intuit Data Protect and then click on About Intuit Data Protect].



• Press the Ctrl + F2 keys. This will launch IDP.

• In the IDP tool, choose Run Diagnostics.

• The tool will do the necessary diagnosis.

• If the app asks for access to use the IDP files, provide consent for the same.

• Now, visit the manufacturer website and make an exception for the IntuitDataProtect.exe file.


Method 2: Add Intuit to trusted sites



• Run Internet Explorer.

• Now, head to Internet Options.

• Uncheck the box next to "Enable protected mode".

• Include ".intuit.com,"".intuit.net," and "backup.com."

• After adding the sites, click on Close.

• Next, click on the Privacy tab.

• Add the websites ".QuickBooks.com" and ".intuit.com."

• Once done, click on Ok and then close all windows.


Method 3: Include QuickBooks ports in the Firewall

• Go to the Control Panel from the Windows start menu.

• Head to the System tab.

• Click on the Security tab.

• Visit the Windows Firewall settings.

• Now, go to "Advanced Settings" and pick "Inbound Rules."



• Click on "New Rules," and in the "Incoming Port" field, type "80."

• Hit on Next.

• The same method must now be used for the Outbound Rules. Add 443, 16841 to the Outgoing port.
