Fix 1: Update QuickBooks in Safe mode

• Herein, choose Safe Mode with Networking, and then press the Enter key.

• Run the QuickBooks desktop.

• After that, click on the Help menu and then choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.


• Click on Update Now.

Fix 2: Add Intuit as a Trusted Website

• The first step is starting Internet Explorer. Press Windows + R on the keyboard once Internet Explorer has launched to bring up the Run command.

• Select the Security tab next and then head to Sites option.

• Click on Trusted Sites.

• Add the following sites:

‘https://www.intuit.com’ and

‘https://www.intuit.ca’.

• Next, select the Add option.

• Check the box next to "All sites in this zone".

• After that, click on Ok.


Fix 3: Disable Firewall

• Click on the Start menu.

• Head to Settings and choose the Update and Security option.

• Click on the Windows Security option.

• Now choose the Network Protection and Firewall.


• Tap on each domain, private network, and public network separately and disable the Microsoft Defender Firewall for all network types.

• Return to the QuickBooks website and attempt upgrading the application again.


Fix 4: Update digital signature certificates

• Access the directory containing the QuickBooks files. For that, right-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon and choose Properties.

• Now, click on Open File Location.

• Search for the QBW32.exe file in this folder.

• Right-click on the file and choose Properties.

• Choose Intuit Inc. from the list under the Digital Signature option.


• After that, choose the Details tab.

• Next, choose the View Certificate option in the Digital Signature Details box.

• Right-click the Certificate option and choose the option to Install Certificate.


• Click on Next, followed by hitting on Finish.

• Now try to update QuickBooks.


Fix 5: Clean installing QuickBooks

• To begin, open the Control Panel in the Windows start menu.


• Then, open the Programs and Features option and choose QuickBooks.

• After that, choose Uninstall/Change, then click on Uninstall.


• Now, remove the accounting program by following the on-screen directions.

• After the installation procedure is finished, restart your computer.

• Re-Install QuickBooks and enter the correct license and product keys when prompted for the same.
